Reading and Maths Intervention Program

At our school, we understand the importance of providing tailored support to students who may need a little extra help through intervention programs.

Kismet Park Primary School runs an intervention program in accordance with the government policy ‘Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI)’. The focus of the TLI is on the foundational skills of reading and numeracy.

Tutors use whole school data to select students in need of support. The students are placed into small groups and are seen to 2-3 times per week in a quiet learning space outside of the classroom. Our aim is for students to feel confident, supported and to meet their individualised learning goals.

Mathematics Extension Program

On the flip side, for those students who are ready to explore and go beyond grade-level expectations, we offer exciting extension opportunities.

Students undertake both collaborative and individualised problem-solving tasks that aim to stimulate growth and ignite curiosity, allowing our students to soar to new heights.

We provide lessons 2- 3 times per week, each lasting 30-40 minutes. Students work with tutors to set clear, achievable goals. These goals serve as a guide for both the student and the teacher.

Through our extension programs, we aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning and equip our students with the skills needed to excel in a rapidly changing world.
